Our Definition of Astrology
Astrology is the art and science of enabling higher possibilities through the examination and use of universal forces; this is our definition. It captures the essence of our philosophy and how we view the subject, but by no means is this definition universally accepted.
Is Astrology a Science or an Art?
- Astrology’s Scientific Foundation: The creation of astrological charts and tables relies on astrophysics and mathematics, objective disciplines, suggesting a scientific basis.
- Art of Astrological Guidance: The guidance and impact of astrology on individuals are subjective and not currently scientifically verifiable, positioning it as an art.
- Life’s Subjectivity: Life itself is largely subjective and open to interpretation, mirroring the artistic aspect of understanding astrological guidance.
- Both Rationality and Intuition: Human experience requires both rational (scientific) and intuitive (artistic) understanding, a balance reflected in astrology.
From Predicting, to Creating Your Future
If Astrology were purely scientific, it would imply that the possibility would be finite because results would be measurable. If possibilities were measurable, the future would be predictable, and if that were the case, life would have no purpose.
A Purposeful Life
The future ahead has more than one path and for this reason, we call astrology the art and science of ‘higher possibilities’ rather than that of predictions. Imagine for a moment that there was only one future – most of us would shudder at the thought that there would be no dreams to live for and no desires to fulfill.
Higher Possibilities
The fact that in this ultramodern, AI, and data driven world, there are many who are ‘seeking’ is a sign that there is faith. The number of astrology channels on digital media platforms is testament that people are seeking ways to improve life.
Seeking in the Digital Age
Astrology aligns with the undeniable reality of universal forces, supported by established scientific laws demonstrating interactions between objects; extending this, a philosophical analogy can be drawn between the laws of motion and Vedic thought, suggesting that the karmic cycle, with its layers of cause and effect, operates as a fundamental force.
